Sheriff candidate Raul Fernandez officially kicks off his campaign on Saturday Feb 23, 2008 at the Cabbage festival.

Raul has develop (Team Fernandez 08), which is his official election team. The team has two sectors East and West to better serve the Citizens of Hendry.

list of Sheriff candidates gets bigger. As the pool of applicants becomes large not many candidates have Raul's experience in Police work. Recently Raul has expressed an interest in debating the other candidates with not much luck. Team Fernandez 08, encourages a debate for the citizens of Hendry to make a clear choice for Sheriff.

Hendry County Deputy removed from office.

Nov 2007: Deputy Orlando Torres was removed from office for a list of unfounded issues. The Hendry County Attorney in conjunction with Sheriff Lee terminated Deputy Torres. What is interesting is that another Deputy from within the HCSO also had the same issue but only worse, not only keep his job but got promoted.
